- • Apply through SCRAP-IT before completing the purchase

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get the federal iZEV rebate on a used EV?
No. The federal iZEV incentive applies to new and manufacturer-certified vehicles only, and the program has been paused after its funding was exhausted. Savings on a used EV come from provincial programs and the lower purchase price.
Which province has the best used EV rebate in Canada?
Prince Edward Island and Quebec are the strongest. PEI combines a used vehicle rebate with a free Level 2 home charger and waived registration, while Quebec's Roulez vert program offers the largest single cash rebate on a used all-electric vehicle.
Do used EV rebates apply to private sales?
Usually not. Most provincial used EV rebates require the purchase to be made through a licensed dealer in that province. Tax exemptions, such as British Columbia's zero-emission vehicle PST exemption, can still apply to private sales.
Do plug-in hybrids qualify for used EV rebates?
In most provinces yes, but at a reduced amount compared with a full battery-electric vehicle. Quebec's used vehicle stream generally excludes plug-in hybrids entirely.
